Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Hello, FRIENDS! Today began with sunshine, a pair of Toms on my feet, and an absolutely ridiculously good hair day, so you know what? I am pretty darn sure it is going to be a FANTASTIC day! Let's make it happen! And to add to that fantastic day, we have a fun new challenge for you over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog! This week we are playing TAG! Yup! We want to see tags as your creation, in your creation, on your creation, whatever! Just show us a tag! The design team is playing with Tim Holtz products this week. If you have them we'd love to see you rock them, but if not, that's cool, you don't have to use them to play along!

Create Imperfection Tag

Yup. So you know that happy little CAS box I live in from time to time. Well, I BUSTED that sucker wide open for this challenge! Jumped right on out of the box and went full on mixed media style. I should write a song about it. Psy can sing it. It's gonna be a hit, folks, so get ready for Mixed Media Style: The Song to hit your local radio stations!

So, you can find the products I used in the links below (or just by browsing the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store), but I want to talk technique for a minute. I used multiple colors of distress inks, applied with the cute little round applicator thingy (yup...totally the technical term) on a standard shipping tag. I then splashed a bit of water on that, which has this neat little reaction and causes those light spots you see. I added some stamped and embossed flowers, then some stamped (and rather messy, mind you) rows of dots before attaching the metal pieces. I also used inks to dye the ribbon and I love that piece so much I think I could hug it. Seriously, though... if you haven't tried to do some of this stuff, it really isn't hard to do... even I managed. HA!

AND... now it's YOUR turn! Create a tag or a project with a tag and link it up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog for your chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate to the Simon Says Stamp Store! Woot! Woot!

And dude, Have a Happy.

Some CAS-ual Summer Lovin'

Hahahaha! Okay, so that blog post title probably sounds a bit more scandalous than reality. BUT, it made me laugh, so, there ya go! We have a brand new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge for you and this one is a fun one! It's all about the Summer Lovin'!

We want to see you create a CAS design using HEARTS in SUMMER COLORS! For my project, I chose to use gold and white. LOVE that combo!!!

With Love

I used the playing card die and the heart from the Shuffle Fri-dies set by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and then added a sentiment from the Beanstalks stamp set. I love how this one turned out! Using that playing card die as a window... brilliant. LOL! It's the simplest things that get me excited sometimes! HA!

With Love (detail)

We choose LOTS of winners for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! Our top winner will receive a $25 Gift Voucher to Simon Says Stamp! Woot! Woot!

AND... Our four FAVORITES (after the winner) will receive the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps stamp set or Fri-Die of their choice! WHAT? Yup. Totes. So, head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog, check out the amazing inspiration from the Girl Fridays and then link up your fabulous Summer Lovin' inspired CAS card for a chance to win! Woot! Woot!

You can find links to the products I used for my card below. Have a Happy!
