Let's CELEBRATE!

Did you see the news? If not, head on over HERE to check it out! I'm pretty excited to be joining this AMAZINGLY talented group of designers! Woot! Woot!!!

I decided to create a fun CELEBRATE card to, well, celebrate! HA! I used some of the awesome techniques from the Summer Card Camp 2 class over at Online Card Classes and pulled that browns and purples with a touch of blue color scheme again, as well. This time I added a rather substantial amount of white and I love the results! SO pretty!

Celebrate!

My card was heavily inspired by Jennifer McGuire's card. I loved how she layered embossing powders onto a die cut, so I began with a layer of Stampendous Clear Bark powder, heated that, and then added a layer of the chunkier Stampendous Aged Silver, which is a mix of dark silver/pewter tones, golds, and a touch of browns and blacks. This allowed the brown shades to come out in the die cut. I cut a few extra flowers and used two blue, one pale blue color and one glitter, embossing powders on those and then accented the die with a few Queen and Company purple sticky gem thingies. (Yup. That's totally what the package says. I promise. HA!) I love that lattice embossing folder from Crafter's Companion and I think it worked so well with this great die from Simon Says Stamp! A bit of darker purple washi tape down the side grounds the entire design really well.

Celebrate (detail)

For the sentiment, I stamped and embossed the 'celebrate' from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps' Shenanigans set in the Clear Bark powder onto vellum and then attached it to the inside of the card. I love it. This card was one of those ones that made me stand back and SUPER smile when I was done. I just LOVE IT! You know when you have a picture in your head of what your card will look like when you finish? Yeah, well, this one is better than that picture, and that's pretty rare, so I pretty much do the happy dance when that happens! LOVE. IT. For reals, dudes. For reals.
