The Happy Feet Factor

Red Slippers

It's a funny thing, really.

There is just something about making your feet comfortable that can calm, sooth, relax, and generally make the rest of your body feel better.

No matter what.

It's the Happy Feet Factor.

No.  For reals.  Think about it...if your feet are happy...the rest of you go with them!

Well, at least that's the way it works for me.

There is nothing quite so lovely as making my feet warm and toasty in a great pair of socks or slippers.

AND...

When the slippers happen to be SUPER UBER CUTE red ruffle covered slippers, well....

...let's be honest here, folks.

That's just happy making all around.

So...we have avoided the storms that are currently dumping snow on the mid-East coast, however, it seems as though we will be joining them in the middle of this week.

Me....I'm just going to count on my red ruffling SUPER UBER CUTE slippers to keep my toesies warm and happy.

It will be okay.

I'll have Happy Feet.

Just say'n.

Happy Feet

I hope your feet are very happy today!!!!

...They are making headlines!

HA!  HA!  HA!  HA!  HA!!!!!  I love it.  Seriously, folks.  That's funny stuff.  I don't care who you are.  Just say'n.

It's Friday.  I'm happy that it is Friday.

I got donuts this morning for breakfast.  I ordered my recent favorite -1 old fashioned and 1 strawberry frosted with sprinkles.

I expected to get this:

But instead I got a pink covered donut like this!!!  (Only...the chocolate part was strawberry so it was pink and tasted better.)

That made me SOOOOOO happy.  For reals.  I needed it this morning.  I'm not even kidding you.  That donut just made my day.  That's all.

Have a good Friday!  Enjoy the little things...sometimes it's all we've got!

Creepy? Cute? Combo?

One Wolrd One Heart Event Giveaway

Jen Kiaba Photography Journal Giveaway

First of all, please be kind! I know he isn't perfect, actually, he has several flaws, but I'm new to this whole clay thing and I really just made him for the purpose of playing with clay! LOL!

Okay...now on to the question at hand:

DSCN5537

Is he creepy?

Does he look like a devil to you?

Is he cute?

Does he look happy to you?

Or is that grin more maniacal?

The Hubbums swears he is down right devilish.

I thought he was a bit whimsical.

Hmmmm....

...the thing about that little discussion is that I tend to gravitate toward 'creepy' art and therefore, I'm inspired by it and sometimes, well, create seriously creepy stuff.

DSCN5538

Don't get me wrong, now. You KNOW I love all things cute! The problem is...I tend to think creepy = cute. Some disagree.

I don't know what's wrong with them.

HA! KIDDING! (sort of. Just say'n.)

But...I have more of a dilemma with this little guy than just the level of creepage. (Of course it's a word. Don't question me. I bite.)

HA!!!! No I don't.

Moving on....

My other dilemma is what kind of doll to incorporate this lovely little cured clay head into. (Yes, I realize I just horrifyingly dangled a preposition, but I can't really figure out how to reword that sentence at the moment, so it shall dangle with glee! Add some glitter and it will be fine.)

Should I create something from fabric and stuffing?
Should I create a box style body with found elements?
Should I sculpt clay arms and legs and attach to a paper torso of some kind?

I'm just not sure where to go with this one. So...I'm asking you, my dear readers, to toss suggestions at me. What do YOU think he is? What is his story?

In the meantime...feel free to leave your opinions on the creepy/cute discussion.

(Okay...so maybe he looks creepy in THIS photo, but it's all about lighting, folks! ALL about the lighting. Just say'n.)

So, as I mentioned...or maybe I haven't...I'm not sure, really.  Headbands have totally become my best friend in this whole 'growing my hair out' process.  If you have ever had the joy of going from a rather short cut to something longer, you understand.

THAT being the case, I needed some cuteness!!!  I have a couple of super totally awesome wicked crazy cool feather headbands, but sometimes that's a bit more than I really need and quite frankly, one of them squeezes my brains out.  Just say'n.

SO....I made some new ones!!!!  And I'm going to show you how, 'cause it was super wicked crazy easy and they came out SOOOO cute and they are making me so totally amazingly happy right now!!!!

So...Here:

DSCN5541

Start with a pack of SUPER cute felt/lace embellishments from Precocious Paper!  (Oh, did I mention I TOTALLY took the cheater method for these?  HA!!! I totally {heart} Etsy!!!)  BUT...if you are mildly less lazy than I or, perhaps, not needing them NOW NOW NOW you can make your own adorable little embellishments.  Either way works.  Just say'n.

THEN.....
DSCN5542

You need some clippies.  Get the slightly larger ones because you might need room for more than just hair.  I promise that will make more sense later.

DSCN5543

Then you need the almighty adhesive.  Yes, my friends, this is a glue gun project.  If you hate glue guns you are welcome to stitch things together, but that takes longer and, well, we already discussed the FAST part of this process, so you know....I'm lazy and went with the glue gun.  Just say'n!

DSCN5544

Attach the clippies to the back of the flower embellishments.  I suggest doing this with the clip open so you don't accidentally glue it shut.  Not that I would do something like that ever.  It's just a precaution, is all.  You don't want to go nuts with the glue, but you do need enough for it to hold firmly, so don't be too stingy.

DSCN5545

Okay...so now you have clippies!  You COULD wear those in your hair as is if you have normal hair.  They would be super cute!  However...I, in fact, do NOT have normal hair.  I have super fine, crazy thin hair that argues with things like clippies and barrettes.  SO....that's where these abso-freaking-lutely fabulous elastic headbands come in.

1.  They don't try to squeeze my brains out.
2.  They fit well.
3.  They keep my hair in place.
4.  They provide a more stable connection point for cutesy clippies!!!

DSCN5546

You have two choices at this point.  You can attach the clip to the headband as shown above using the clip(s) OR you can put the headband on and then attach the clip(s) to both the headband AND your hair to sort of tell your head who is boss.  If you need to do that sort of thing.  You know.  Some people have that issue.  Just say'n.

AND THEN.......are you ready for the best part?????

DSCN5547

YOU PUT IT ON YOUR ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE-CUTE-LITTLE-HAPPY HEAD!!!!  YEAH!!!!!

(I have NO Idea what is up with my nose in this shot, but whatever.  It is what it is.  Only it's not, because I don't even have a big nose.  Forehead, totally, but not a big nose.  Just say'n.)

DSCN5552

So....do you love them?  Cause I pretty much totally do!  AND you can switch out your colors and where different combinations, making it even MORE fun!!!!  I'm totally sporting the turquoise and white today!!!  LOVING IT!!!!

My Thoughts for Monday

There has been so much going on around here and I don't want anyone to miss any of the great opportunities, so be sure to check out the following!

One Wolrd One Heart Event Giveaway

250 Custom Stickers from Uprinting Giveaway

Jen Kiaba Photography Journal Giveaway

So take a minute and check those out!!

I also wanted to take second or three, or generally however long it takes for you to read this .... to welcome my new and amazing public followers!!!!  I had a goal to reach 400 by my birthday and you guys TOTALLY ROCK and got me there like TWO WEEKS early!!!!  I'm so excited!  I am hoping to do an official "Love Your Followers" day sometime this month...it just might be later.  When I do those I make a point to visit the blog of EACH and EVERY public follower and comment just 'cause I like ya and stuff!!!  It's way fun and I always encourage everyone to do the same with those who follow your blog just 'cause it makes people smile and stuff.  Just say'n.

In other news.....LOVING Project Runway this season!  So happy to see less drama and more professionalism!  It really makes a HUGE difference in the tone of the show!  I am always inspired by watching others create, so I just love this show!!!  Are you a fan?

I got new tires this weekend and I had no idea just HOW MUCH stopping power I had lost due to the old ones!  Yikes!  It was a little scary when I saw how WELL these allowed me to stop because it was sort of one of those...hmmm....so if I'm noticing this much of a difference then just HOW bad WERE those old tires????  Oooopsies.

Also, The Hubbums is asking for ideas for  birthday gifts.  He says he feels like getting me scrapbook stuff or art stuff is cheating, so that stuff doesn't count.  Problem is...I don't much need/want anything else.  HA!  Well, unless he wants to drop a pretty penny on a DSLR...I WON'T be complaining about that, but I don't think that is really in the budget, so, that being the case...do any of YOU have any great ideas?  Of course, there is the iPad, but I REALLY think I want to wait for the next generation before getting one of those.  I need to be convinced that it isn't a total dud, kwim?  I'm open to any ideas you might have!  Throw 'em at me!  (Oh...and we just bought me some new clothes, so I don't really much need those right now, either.)

On the creative side of life I picked up some clippies and elastic headbands last night and I hope to make some SUPER cute hair pretties this week.  Mostly 'cause I need some desperately!  HA!  No, seriously.  For reals, you guys, you don't even know.  This whole growing my hair out thing has given me SUCH an amazing appreciation for headbands, but, being me, I prefer them to be all cute and flowery and feathery and such, so I need to work on these plain boring ones.  Just say'n.

SOOoooooo.....   what have YOU been up to?  Do anything super fun this weekend?  Planning any way CUTE projects?  Just having a happy day?

OH!  I forgot to tell you about my doll head.  I made it out of clay.  I'll have to photograph it, but it's not great since I've not really sculpted much, but it was wicked crazy fun!  I hope to incorporate it into a full art doll.  I think clay and I may end up getting along fairly well in the future.  Just say'n.

Jingle Out!

HA!!!!  Seriously.  Do you think that is just hilarious?  Probably not.  But I still TOTALLY do.  If you knew me personally, you would be laughing.  Hard.  For reals. I look like SUCH a dork when I say that!  It's too funny, really, it is.  Maybe I'll add it to my next video just so you can see!  HA!!!!!!
