Did you have a good weekend?
Mine wasn't long enough to say the least, but isn't that just always the way. I DID, however, get a few fun things done, so that is happy. I made some serious progress on the doll that I showed you the other day. I'm at that point where I'm super excited about where she is and scared to death that I'll ruin it all at the same time! LOL! Does that ever happen to you? 'Cause it sort of happens to me a lot, actually. Just say'n.
I made cupcakes yesterday, though!
They are pretty much the most boring cupcakes of my life. They are STRAIGHT from the box. I didn't alter a thing. They taste fine, but they are boring. For reals. Oh, well, I guess not every cupcake can be a culinary masterpiece. However, this has encouraged me to just take the flying leap and make the bacon cupcakes that I've been so afraid to make. At least they won't be boring! HA!
I also played with one of my new Cricut Cartridges a bit over the weekend. I absolutely LOVE the A Child's World cartridge and, while I bought it with high hopes for super creative endeavors, I saw yesterday just how fabulous it is in simplicity, as well! Check out these fun cards!
(sorry this last one is crooked...I was really sleepy when I took these! HA!)
They are SUPER simple cards and I honestly did all four of them very quickly by using similar materials and the same design concept, but I sort of like them. Sometimes you don't need all the bells and whistles! The sillhouettes really pop and I added just a bit of glitz to each card just because sparkle is great!
I have more to share with you, but that will have to come later! I hope you did something fun over the weekend!
These cards are wonderful. I love the simplicity of them. You are a bad, bad, bad, bad influence. I have been so good about trying to not want the Cricut, but now, you are swaying me...
ReplyDeleteI got my Birthday goodies from you. THANK YOU so very much. I have plans for the stamps. But need time to get creative. These kids keep wanting food. Everyday. AND I can't even begin to tell you how much that flower pin is tickling my fancy. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.
Thank you a million times over. I plan on posting about it. Just need to find some time to take the pics and post...
I love those cards. I really like the girls with the wings.
ReplyDeleteCupcakes and Silhouette paper cutting! What could be funner? I love the cards - they're too adorable. And cupcakes can never be boring because they are just too much fun to EAT! :) Theresa
ReplyDeleteThose cards are fantastic! I want one of those machines-but I wouldn't get enough use out of it.
ReplyDeleteBoring or not, the cupcakes look yummy!
The cards are fantabulous!
ReplyDeleteBACON CUPCAKES?!!! Oh...now you've really got me wondering about men in white coats. ;)
Your cupcakes look yummy...boring or not. Please tell me that's cream cheese frosting on top! YUM YUM.
I wasn't going to get that cartridge, but now I think I have to have it. Very simple and yet beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteOh wow those cards are just adorable... way more appealing than bacon cupcakes :) I know lots of people put bacon in everything but that doesnt work for me so much :)
ReplyDeleteCupcakes look delicious...your writing is very creative - enjoyed reading your posts!
ReplyDeleteLove the cards! They are simple, but say so much!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that kind of cupcake. YUMMY! I wish I had a funfetti cupcake!
Hello dear Moxie Girl... so excited you said yes to guest posting! Did you get the latest email? Somehow I don't think my Gmail is working properly... would it work possibly to chat for a minute or two sometime today? JUst so I can sort of plan the week! Drop me a note to kthyfnky AT yahoo instead of Gmail and we'll see if that works!
ReplyDeleteOh and the cards are fab and simple cupcakes ARE cupcakes so it can't be all bad. My Jessie would say they are NOT CAKE... but still tasty! (She is disappointed if there is no big cake at birthday parties even though she'll happily eat the cupcakes!) Onward to the bacon ones!
ReplyDeleteThese cards are so pretty...I've always loved the look of silhouettes. The cupcakes look yummy too!
ReplyDeleteTake my word for it....bacon cupcakes are AWESOME:-)
ReplyDeleteBoring!? Ahhh, funfetti cupcakes are my favorite ;-)
ReplyDeleteBACON?! You need to elaborate on this one, haha.
I LOVE those cards btw!
That is my absolute fav frosting, my mom used to make me confetti cake for my birthdays when I was little! There is no such thing as a boring cupcake, I'm sure of that.
ReplyDeleteOh and I can't even tell you how many "almost finished" projects I have around for that very same reason...but this weeks agenda includes my recently beloved motto: "Finish what you've started". ;)
The cards are lovely, you're right, sometimes simple is good too. Quite a few people are talking about cricuts this last fortnight- it must be either cricut week, try something new week, or go back to old stuff week, I can't decide!!
ReplyDeleteyour cards rock! I have been wanting to get that cartridge. Those cupcakes look fine to me. Hey Toss me one of em I'll let ya know if they are ok lolol.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really cute fairy girl right there. It's a very nice and simple cut out but it works.
ReplyDeleteI love those cards and the design cards you used! You make me really want to get a Cricut.
ReplyDeleteThose cards are lovely! I especially like the ones with the kids and the doggies. Bacon cupcakes?????
ReplyDeleteOh I love and adore the kite flying one!!
ReplyDeletePS chuck some yoghurt in any cake mix, makes it moist and gives a lil hint more of flavour!
How adorable! Love those cards...and like some of your other commenters, am anxious to get that cartridge.
ReplyDeleteI've been playing with my Cricut, but only with the cartridges that came packaged with it. I've still been too cheap to shell out for the others, but know I'd love that sucker way more if I could do something other than letters and hearts. :)
Those cupcakes look so delicious! :)
