Meet Catherine...

Yes, this is Catherine. She and I, well....let's just say it took some time for us to get to know one another. I actually sculpted her head for an entirely different concept and then switched THAT concept to something entirely different and then, yesterday, out of the blue, I was completely and utterly inspired by this fabulous fabric by Samantha Walker for Riley Blake Designs and Catherine was born! (I don't know if this exact line is still available, as it was very popular, but Samantha has a FABULOUS brand new line coming out that you totally need to check out!!! I'm super excited about it!)



Miss Catherine is the type who never leaves the house without her makeup and jewelry on. You see, her face has been shimmered with Twinkling H2O's by Luminarte (Creative Imaginations) and her hair is beautifully coiffed with acrylic paint.



She wears tiny stud earrings everywhere she goes!



Her simple floral brooch is one of her favorite pieces! (Tim Holtz for Advantus)



And of course, a simple pearl bracelet because it goes with just about EVERYTHING!



She even has lovely embellishments right on her dress! Lace and flowers are so lovely together!



Isn't she just lovely?

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to drop in with a very quick post to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! Here are some place cards that I created for today using Samantha Walker for Creative Imaginations papers!



I cut the leaves from a sheet of patterned paper and then coated each of them with a light coat of Twinkling H2O's. I love the shimmer it adds!



The little banners are inked with Distress Inks and then mounted on toothpicks! I love the way those turned out! So cute!

No...you didn't read that wrong.  It's new to me, but I got it at the little thrift shop down the street from my office for a grand total of 50 cents.  I KNOW...I'm SUCH a big spender!  HA!  It was a splurge, what can I say!  HA!



Above you see the super cute all on it's own purse that I got at the thrift store for 50 cents.  I love it!  It's super cute and a nice medium size.  It has a small red mark on the front that I think will come off with a dab of hairspray, as I happen to know that it is Sharpie.  I just haven't got that far yet...something about emptying boxes in every spare moment I had!  HA!



And here you see an absolutely BEAUTIFULLY crafted brooch clippy thing from the fabulous Emmamaha.  I won this in a giveaway and it is JUST STUNNING!  The craftsmanship is some of the best I have ever seen.  Not even kidding.  It is beautifully crafted.  And HEAVY, which is why when I tried to attach it to a rather flimsy headband I found that it didn't work so well, but because I absolutely adore it, I had to find a great way to display it quickly.  Hmmmmm......  Enter the new old purse I got for 50 cents.



Ummmm...yeah.  So, is that not now the CUTEST STINKING PURSE ON THE ENTIRE PLANET????  Let me answer that one for you...yup.  It is.  Just say'n.  I am SO excited!  The two look like they were MADE for each other (only decades apart and stuff!  FUN!!!!) !  I absolutely adore it and I am so super excited and I just had to share it with all of you!!!!

Samantha Walker Products ROCK. Just Say'n.

Okay, so this should officially be the last day of really poor photo quality! YAY! These were all taken at the same time. Apparently I was quite shaky, too, because I've had to adjust the focus on several of them. Weird. Anyway, as far as updates on the move-in process - I FINALLY slept on my own bed with my real mattress last night!!! YAY!!! (We've been on an air mattress for the better part of a month at this point...a good one, mind you, but still.) We also got the dresser clothes out of the laundry baskets and into the dressers! YAY!!! Tonight all the hanging clothes will be able to go into their closets and that will mean that we will have our couch back!!! YAY!!! Also, we moved all the boxes that belong in my studio into said studio and all the boxes that belong in The Hubbums office into said office, so this weekend we should be able to get those two rooms in order, too!!! YAY!!! AND...The Hubbums figured out the trick to the shower controls so now we have hot showers. Things are starting to feel like home! That is a happy thing!

The stamps are from the Encompassed Grace set created by Samantha Walker for Unity Stamp Co! I added a bit of twine and hemp and a few brads and some glitter to finish off this super fun card!



Oh...and just because I know you will want to see it, I am planning on a SUPER fun video of the new room once I get it all set up! My question is...how long are you willing to watch a studio tour video! HA! Youtube only takes up to 10 minutes, so it won't be longer than that, but will you be bored with me if it goes that long. I've discovered that I tend to make long videos! HA! I guess I just have LOTS to say! I am, afterall, a blogger!

Yes, my friends, it is up and built! No boxes unpacked in there yet, (but my kitchen is unpacked - YAY!!!) but it is coming soon!!! Things are starting to look like home, which is good. Also, the Hubbums seems to be feeling a bit better, although, now his voice doesn't seem to want to stick around, which is slightly amusing seeing as he is a TEACHER! HA! He is going to type everything into his computer and let that talk for him! LOL! The bad news today...we have water in the basement. Not a huge problem, but annoying, nonetheless, considering the landlord told us specifically that he hasn't seen water down there since the repairs that were made. Figures. Such is living in New England, though.



I can't wait to empty out those boxes and get these cubes filled with inspiring product again!!! I want to thank all of you guys, too. This move has been EXTREMELY stressful for us and you have all been so encouraging even though you had to listen to me whine all along the way! Thank you SO much! You guys really are the best bloggy friends in the world! I am a lucky girl!
