Daughter of Time {Mixed Media}

Also...don't forget that today is the last day to enter the Skipping Stones Design Stamp Set Giveaway!

I was blessed with time to create over the weekend and it was truly fabulous, let me tell you! I SOOOO enjoyed my time! I posted a card I made on Saturday and today I am sharing with you a piece I put together yesterday.

Daughter of Time

Daughter of Time

This piece began with an urge to cover that little box with the brand new tissue tape that I picked up at Micheal's on Saturday. It just sort of began to flow from there...

Daughter of Time (close)

The clock and wings are Scrolls Work Stamps and both are stamped in Momento ink - even on that silver metallic paper, the Momento worked wonderfully! I used images from a fabulous collage sheet from Retro Cafe. I love these!

Daughter of Time (Side)

I added a couple of pearls to finish the arms and inked the background and the tissue tape covered box to death. I love Distress Inks! HA!

Daughter of Time (title)

To achieve this look, I sprayed a liquid ink, Radiant Rain by Luminarte for Creative Imaginations, and then, while it was still wet, I blew it in various directions with a straw. *Funny Story.* I was looking for a straw and all I could find was a reusable plastic bendy straw that came with a cup that I had in the 'extra cups' cabinet in the kitchen. I figured, whatever...any straw should do the trick, so I pulled it and went to my studio. It whistled. Loudly. HA! I shifted the first spot of ink and the first thing out of my mouth was, "REALLY???" HA! Then The Hubbums quickly questioned what the HECK I was doing to create such a horrible noise! HAHAHA! It was pretty hilarious, actually. Hmmm...maybe you had to be there.

ANYWAY...you can also push the ink around a bit with a toothpick or the end of a paintbrush or whatever you might have handy. I added to the wording already on the card to create my title.

So...that's what I did this weekend! Fun stuff! And I love it! Just say'n.

Happy Monday, folks!

  4. This is so neat. I love how you think out of the box, get it out of the box. Ok I am only amusing myself here.
    My daughter did that straw art in school, but instead sucked on the straw, she said it was gross, I'll take her word for it.
