Golden Hearts

I love you

Boom!  Yup!  I totally just started my post with the picture of my card.  Why?  Because it's AWESOME, that's why!!!!  Am I allowed to say that?  I hope so.  Because, seriously, folks, this card makes me totally happy.  I created it for the All That Glitters is Gold Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  I am absolutely in  love with the gold trend right now!  I can't say I was a big one for gold, but once I started playing with it I just couldn't stop!!!  LOVE. IT!

I love You (detail)

For this card I die cut several hearts from a gold foil cardstock and then layered those, adding dimension to the sides of some of the hearts with foam tape.  The card base is vellum and I adhered a white panel inside the card to make the gold stand out even more when it is closed.  The sentiment is stamped and embossed on a vellum banner and adhered with vellum adhesive.

Gold Heart I love you

Also, I just wanted to remind you that I posted a couple of posts over the weekend, so if you haven't seen those yet, feel free to scroll down to check them out!  (If you landed directly on this post, simply click my blog banner to get to the home page and then scroll down.)

Happy Birthday to Wonderful You! {AEI♥U Challenge}

Hello, friends!  I have a super quick post for you today.  I loved the photo inspiration for the September AEI♥U Challenge so I decided to jump right in! Aren't the lines and colors just fabulous?!

I really wanted to use the full, beautiful spectrum of color from this great patterned paper, so I made a 6x4 card.  The different card dimension just adds so much to the design and that just makes me super happy.  For reals.

Happy Birthday To Wonderful You

I used Maggie Holmes' fabulous Flea Market collection along with the Chevron Bits dies and Handwritten Sentiments stamp set from Avery Elle.  I love how beautifully the graphic chevrons work with the shabby patterned papers.  SO FUN!

You can find the links to the goodies I used below!

Have  a Happy!

Be Merry!

Hello, friends! I'm here with another fun IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® tutorial for you today! We partnered up with the amazing Stampendous! this month, and, well, to say I'm a Stampendous! fan is a bit of an understatement, really. Just sayin'. *wink* *wink* Here is the card I am going to be sharing with you today.

Be Merry

Isn't that fun?!!! I am particularly excited because it not only uses great inks from IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko®, but it also uses both stamps AND stencils from Stampendous! The Stampendous! jumbos now come with a free stencil and I am ALL over that! I love it!

Here are the supplies you will need:

IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaMark™ Watermark Ink
IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaMagic™ Chalk Pigment Ink in Red Magic
IMAGINE Crafts® InkBlushers™
IMAGINE Crafts® Embossing Powder™
Stampendous! Cling Jumbo Dear Santa set
Simon Says Stamp Mod Tree Die
Enamel Dots
May Arts Red Grosgrain
SRM Stickers Border Stickers
White cardstock card base

Be Merry Step 1

Step 1. Stamp the word border stamp with IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® VersaMark™ Watermark Ink and heat emboss with IMAGINE Crafts® Embossing Powder™ on the white card base.

Be Merry Step 2

Step 2. Place the stencil over the stamped and embossed area and secure in place with repositionable tape. Use the IMAGINE Crafts® InkBlushers™ to apply Red Magic VersaMagic ink to the stencil areas.

Be Merry Step 3

Step 3. Adhere ribbon to the edges of the stenciled/stamped area and affix border stickers.

You Are Special

Speech Bubbles. They are really rather amazingly fun little things. I must admit to being a little on the super-way-over-excited side when I saw that The Stamps of Life was releasing a perfectly sized and shaped set of Talk Bubble Dies to coordinate with the talk4phone stamp set! I LOVE them!!!

You Are Special

I kept the color scheme on this one basic in black and white. Why? Well, because I happen to rather like black and white AND I think it works brilliantly with the simplicity of the design I used here, as well. I die cut several of the bubbles and adhered them all over my white card base. On the one bubble in the corner, I stamped and embossed my sentiment to be sure it would really stand out. I kind of love it. Lots. For reals, folks.

You are Special (detail)

Seriously, though... you should totally check out these awesome stamps and dies! It's definitely a set you NEED in your life. Just sayin'.

And with that, my friends, I wish you the best of weekends! I hope it rocks!

Have a Happy!

100 Days of Tombow

Several weeks ago I was contacted by Tombow asking if I would like to participate in their 100 Days of Tombow celebration.  I was not only honored by the request, but THRILLED to have the opportunity to participate in this great program.  Tombow is working with 100 Bloggers and for each post they are donating $100 product donation to the Council for Art Education.  I have three great passions in my life, folks.  Two of those three... Art and Education.  This was a no brainer for me!

Thanks

The kit that Tombow sent my way included some beautiful Irojiten colored pencils, a dual brush marker set, and, my personal favorite adhesive runner... the Tombow Adhesive Stamp Runner.  I combined a bit of each to create the card you see above!  I was surprised at how beautifully the pencils blended and I just love how the leaf turned out!

Fall Thank you (detail)

I want to thank Tombow for asking me to be a part of this endeavor and for their commitment to art education..

Have a Happy!

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

So.  Hi.  I'm the new kid.  Yup.  I, upon the encouragement given by Jen, am participating in this months Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge thingy.  Okay... so they don't include the thingy part, but that's always what it's been in my head, so there you have it.  Keepin' it real, here, folks.  Keepin' it real.

The theme is WREATHS!  I'm not a big wreath person.  I don't even hang them in my house, although, I have made a few and I do appreciate their beauty very much.  I wanted to create my own wreath for my card, so I pulled out a couple of small PTI sets and made a heart wreath!

Be Merry

The adorable little heart is from the Heart-2-Herat #5 set, as is the bow.  I love them!  SO CUTE!!!  I sketched a circle lightly in pencil and then stamped my hearts and bow to create the wreath.  I then erased the pencil line after it was dry.

Be merry wreath (detail)

The sentiment is from the Tag-Its #9.  I stamped it and the bow in gold Delicata ink.  I love that stuff so much!  It is popped up on a simple rectangle panel over a strip of gold glitter tape.  LOVE!!!

So... there you have it.  I'm the new kid at the PTI party!  Woot!  Woot!

Have a Happy!
