Hey, I Just Met You... in Nineteen Sixty... But Here's My Number...

.. So call me maybe?

Yes.  You now have that song in your head, but you can't really blame me, I mean really... it's rather unavoidable.  Just sayin'.  HOWEVER...there is a reason I put that song in your head... the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this week ROCKS!  I was totally inspired by it the second I saw the picture!

Totally cool, isn't it? I thought so. Which is why I jumped on getting my card made for it! I had SO. STINKING. MUCH. FUN. creating this card. I seriously love it! It started as a totally different idea and evolved into this way cool design that I just adore!

Rotary Hey There

To create this one, I began with a white card base, layered it with a black mat, and then added a white mat stamped with envelope liner background from Hero Arts with London Fog ink from Tsukineko. I used my manual circle cutter (EK Curvy Cutter - I love that thing) to cut the black background circle and the white dial circle. I then punched the number/finger holes from the white circle before adhering it to the black. I added some fun Doodlebug stickers for the numbers.

Rotary Hello There (detail)

To create the center, I used Sally the Cricut to die cut a fun medallion and then a circle. I layered those and stamped the fun phone from Vogue Abode in the center in a nice, bright red. I added a little silver cardtock finger stop to the dial to complete it. For the sentiment, I stamped the Hey There from Sentiment Sampler and then accented it with a cute little 'arrow' from Spookalicious. Yes, that was originally intended to be a Jack-O-Lantern facial feature, but I love the graphic design look of it! WAY FUN!

And that's my card for today! I love it and I hope you do, too!

  15. Cute! I love anything retro. I always try to horrify my kids by telling them how our phones had cords and we had to get up to change the channel on the tv (which of course had no vcr or dvr attached to it).
