Textured to Perfection in the Moxie Fab World {WOYWW}

Welcome to Wednesday, web wanderers! (Heeee!!!! That was fun. Just say'n.) It is a pleasure to see you all here today! I have a question for you today. Do you have a hard time throwing away the stickers from bananas? No, seriously? Do you? 'Cause I do. They don't seem like trash to me. They seem like fun little blue and yellow sticker fabulousness! I mean, really...it's like a FREE PRIZE with your banana! Sometimes a bunch even has two or three of them!!! It gets pretty exciting. No, I never do much of anything with them, but I just have the darndest time tossing them. Hmmm....maybe it's just me. And *maybe* I should have kept that little bit of crazy to myself. Oh, well. It's out there now. My name is Jingle and I don't like throwing away banana stickers. I have two on my desk as we speak. I'm gonna stick 'em somewhere.

I did not, however, use my banana stickers to create today's card. Although, that is, I suppose, an idea! HA!

love u.

I DID however, use the Moxie Fab Textured to Perfection challenge as my starting point! There is nothing better than pulling fabulous texture into a clean and simple design! You saw my tiny knots on my cards last week, and today I added a bit of corrugated cardboard and twine! It makes me happy. Texture happy. Just say'n.

love u. (detail)

Don't you just want to touch it?! I do. Wait. I did. I actually made it. Oh. Well, then....

K. Moving on. Soooooo....today is also What's on your Workspace Wednesday. I am sorry to report that the clean desk kick that actually lasted a couple of weeks has been shattered! HA!

WOYWW10/19

Granted, it's not at it's worst, by any means, but it needs a good clearing, that is for certain! You can see my card sitting there and you can also see the beginning of a Halloween card that I actually finished since I took this shot, too.

OH! Speaking of cards - as I prepare for my holiday cards I really wanted a stamp that says 'Happy Christmas.' I have found that apparently people in the US don't LIKE to say Happy Christmas, so stamps all use Merry or they say Happy Holidays. I want HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!! SO....if any of my visitors from the UK happen to know where I could find one in a fairly simple font, you would make my day! I tried Etsy to no avail, as well as general online searches. I need help!!! LOL!

In the meantime...I'm gonna have some candy corn. Just say'n.

Happy Wednesday!!!!

  4. Love this sweet card! You DO know you have me addicted to twine, right? Yeppers. You DO! But it's not JUST the twine OR the simplicity. It's the corrugation. Oh, yeah. I confess. I have a long time, running addiction to corrugated stuff. I corrugate paper, fabric, flexible plastic, pretty much ANYTHING. I even corrugated a stick of GUM once just to see how it would look. LOL! Honest! I own 5 - count 'em - FIVE different corrugators. ALSO, I think we are sisters in odd things. You keep 'nana labels. I keep the mesh bags (even the PLASTIC ones that are mesh) from fingerling & new potatoes. You wouldn't BELIEVE the things I've made from them. Yeah. I'm a strange old critter. Finally: your desk. I think it looks HAPPY because it's covered in fun things! HUGS to you!

  6. I...love...this...card. That is all.

No, that's not all :) I've been wanting to make some corrugated shapes like this, I'm so much more inspired now! Way cool! As for your desk, you rocked it for two weeks, old habits die hard. Maybe there is a dirty desk anonymous group you could attend? :) You might even be able to seek out help for that banana sticker thing you've got going on. Haha!
What if you combined a happy birthday stamp and a merry Christmas stamp, you know, if worse comes to worse. You could mix up your fonts too.

  8. I'm always relieved when someone has a passion as crazy as me! I too love stickers from any fruit and our last kitchen I stuck them inside one of the cupboard doors... the whole door ended up covered and any friends who visited always went out to see if I had any new ones. Wish I'd taken a pic.

  11. I think you should make a banana out of stickers and make a card out of it!! Or even a canvas. If an art gallery can have an exhibition made of toast, I don't quite see why you can't have an artwork of stickers :D

so no you are not the only person with quark strangeness and charm...

  16. I don't personally have the banana sticker 'issue', but my friend & her daughter do. So it's not just you - and they keep ALL the fruit & veg stickers, even the unpretty ones.
The twine looks like it's hugging the heart. Love it. A lot. And I love seeing your desk messy too - it validates mine, of course, but like someone else already said it means you're having fun :)

  18. Such a great card. Less is more, that's what I say! I have my issues (it's with buttons and not the kind that you sew on to anything, buttons you push) but now sure I've heard of banana stickers before. Run with it...if it makes you happy. Just sayin! LOL

  33. It IS a cute card! and I understand about not throwing the banana stickers! I always think maybe I could use this, and end up with a lot of odds and ends. You could always stick em in your diary and make doodles and say you ate 2 bananas today or something like that. It'll amuse you in the future. Patsy from
