Design Dollies Challenge - Come join in to win a great prize!

***This is my second post for today, so be sure to check out my SSD post, too! it announces our winner!***

Guess WHAT! No. For reals. This is totally cool. I was asked to be the guest designer for the month of September over at Design Dollies!!!!

I am SO excited I can't even contain it! For reals, folks. Have you seen the Dollies? Basically, it's an awesome challenge blog that gives you a chance to play with all different types of challenges and they are totally inspiring and totally fun!

The first challenge that I complete for this month was a SUPER fun one! Here it is:

Elements - 1) create an ATC that reflects your personal crafty style and 2) USE that ATC in a project in some way.

Yup! A two part challenge with ATC goodness AND freedom to be ME! That's my favorite - being me and such. So....what did I do with this amazing challenge? I'll SHOW you what I created!

Let me introduce Lucy! She is a delightful little paper doll built in a box and she LOVES Pooh bear!

Really? You are surprised? I get to design for a site CALLED Design DOLLIES and you really had ANY question as to the fact that a doll would be produced in some way or another? Don't be silly. It had to happen. HA!

Lucy's Top

Lucy's Skirt

To create Lucy, I began be creating the two ATC's that are her skirt and top. I made color copies of pages from a Winnie the Pooh book and then altered them with acrylic paint and Twinkling H2O's. I also added various embellishments to make her EXTRA pretty!

Lucy's Box

I covered a Velveeta box with a photocopy of an old children's record cover and then dry brushed acrylics over the design to create the outer portion of the doll. Her arms are cut from an image sheet and attached with brads.

Lucy's Arm

Her pretty little face is cut from an image sheet and altered to work with the color scheme I had created with the ATC's and then attached to a juice lid and wired onto the box.

Lucy's head

I have been dying to do a box style doll for awhile and when I read this challenge I KNEW it was time to make it happen! I love Lucy! She was so fun to create!
