I have red and teal paint I could use for the board and I may paint it in the future (like when we move, maybe?). What do you think? Do you think I should keep the grey or consider the red (my favorite color) or the teal (another fave, but also just bright and cheery). I have always stuck to neutrals in my studio for fear of the color distracting my art. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Art Board
No, I'm not putting together a group of people to do whatever it is that 'boards' do in relation to art. Nope. That's not it at all! Instead, I actually decided to display my own art in my studio in a new way! I added a few pieces that have been given to me by others, too! This board has been on my wall for years serving various purposes, but it has been pretty much blank for a long time, as I had planned on painting it a new color. Well, as you know, sometimes plans just don't ever turn into actual happenings so I decided it was time to admit it wasn't going to happen and go ahead and put some stuff up there to display. I love it! It makes me happy!

Very cute! I have an area like that as well. A few of them, actually. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this...I wish I had an area to display some of my cards...I think it would help keep me inspired. My are in in the loft and there is not a lot of wall space.
ReplyDeleteLove this! So inspiring. I'd probably keep it grey so the art can really stand out. Even though the red/teal color combo sounds really pretty...
ReplyDeletevery cool - display stuff like that is just downright fun!!
ReplyDeleteLove this!!! I say- leave it grey, but fill it with lots of colorful projects!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great thing to have an art/inspiration board. I wish I had a big enough wall in my studio to have one. Although I have lots and lots of art prints on the small walls to encourage me. Theresa :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great art board! Here you can collect many good memories!
ReplyDeleteGreat place to display your artwork! I like the grey color, unless you just want a happier pop of color...I do love red and turquoise together too!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I vote for RED!! Red is the color of the day!
ReplyDeleteI love it grey, your fabulous art will give it all the color you need :) Then again I love color too, hehe *hugs from conroe, tx!
ReplyDeletePaint it teal with red corner accents and it'll seem like a neutral...kinda!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour red, my scrap/craft room is painted in red, but it has to be the right shade of red.
ReplyDeleteAs for your board I wouldn't paint it red, for exactly your reason. I would paind the trim around it red though.
I love the large space for displaying your art.
What a wonderful inspiration board. i think it is so good to surround ourselves with things that make us happy!!! Your blog makes me happy every time I visit it! Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeletegreat space, perhaps you could pain the trim in red or teal so that the art still has the chance to stand out.

Must be the time of year. I too am doing some studio space redos I am painting my very large paper dawers ( 36 x 28 x 24 ( 2 of them ) it is so much work moving them to paint but I have on eodne and am doing the other in the am and once again more paint on me then them !!Love the idea of keeping your new board just for your art!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd paint the inside of the board red and the frame teal myself;)
ReplyDeleteI likey. I think you should leave it as is. It isn't broke, so it shouldn't be fixed. Your art stands out very nicely against this. I am also loving the size of this monster. Hey, you have the grey monster. LOL
