Welcome to the USE YOUR STASH blog hop!!! I am so excited to be joining with the other DT girls to share this awesome blog hop with you! If you just stumbled in, you are going to want to head on over to Use Your Stash to start at the beginning! If you comment on every blog in the hop you will be eligible for an AWESOME prize! Really...a few of us on the design team thought about quitting just so we could enter! LOL! Actually, they will have prizes all month long since we are celebrating the Use Your Stash Blogiversary, so head on over!!!
This is a photo heavy post...FYI.
Since the whole idea behind our fun little challenges over at Use Your Stash is to, well... use your stash, I decided to create a great stash using tutorial for you today!
How to Create SIX Cards From Your Scraps/Stash in an Hour.
First you will need to gather some supplies:
3 sheets of white 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock - If you have card bases on hand that will save time, but I always start with this!
Some Circle (or square or oval) stamps and sentiments if you want them:
Ink. I chose vanilla cream and black since they are basic colors for my work.
Two stashes of scraps - one of small patterned scraps and one of cardstock scraps:
Foam adhesive plus your usual trusty adhesive:
Ribbon and Buttons:
(Sorry....I forgot to take a pic of the buttons.)
Your sticker stash - 3-D is ideal:
Okay...now that you have all of that, we are OFF AND RUNNING!
First you want to cut your white sheets in half (I do it the long way to make top fold cards) to create six card bases.
Next, you want to grab six scraps of solid card stock. Make sure that they are large enough to cover the front of the card. Cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and adhere to card fronts. These don't have to be the same at all...just choose any six colors that are large enough.
Okay...so Flickr didn't like my next picture, so I don't have this one, but choose 6 patterned scraps and cut them to 3x3. You should have one that coordinates with each of your cards. Then, using other scraps or the remnants of the same, punch six scalloped circles (or similar) from coordinating scraps. Stamp the circle stamp onto the 3x3 pattern. Using foam squares, adhere the square to the card background panel. Then, using foam squares, adhere the scalloped circle to the center of the stamped circle. Your results will look like this:
Carry those six cards over to your sticker stash and choose a single 3-D sticker for the center of each scalloped circle. You know those really cute stickers you HAD to have? Yeah...the ones that will never work on a page about your kid or whatever....LOL! USE THOSE!!! (I mean, really? Why did I think I needed a chicken sticker set? I don't know, but I do love them and now I got to use one!!!! That makes me happy!)
Finally, grab a couple strips of ribbon that coordinates with your cards. Adhere a strip across the bottom third of the card and accent with a button to complete your cards!
AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!!! SIX cards completed in a single hour! And...YES! I did actually do these in less than an hour and that included taking all of these photos along the way! LOL! So dig into that stash and make it happen!!!!
Oh...just one thing....
The hour doesn't include clean up time. Just say'n.
Now...hop on over to Corey's blog for your next stop on the Use Your Stash blog hop!
Don't forget to leave a comment here to be entered for the blog hop prize!
Also, for everyone who comments on this post during the blog hop I will draw one winner to recieve one of the cards above with a small stamp or two stuffed in there just for fun! Why? Because I like you guys, that's why!
Have a Happy Hop!!!
