Well, when I saw Cath post the Spectacular Spectacles Challenge over at The Moxie Fab World, you had better believe I wasn't ABOUT to miss out on this fun opportunity to play! You see, I'm one of the cool kids. I wear glasses. I have worn them since I was a sophomore in high school. And, quite frankly, I may have been the first high school kid to have the doctor tell me I REALLY needed glasses and the proceed to CELEBRATE! I had always wanted them. I loved them. And I STILL love them. People often ask why I don't get contacts and the answer is simple - I love wearing glasses! I like the way I look in them and I think they suit me quite well...so...I am playing along as one of the cool kids this time around! YAY!
*ACK!* Totally fun!!! Okay, so the paper is from the the Fancy Pants Off to School collection, which, by the way, I totally and completely love. Just say'n. The stamps are from the super cute Appetizer Set from Gourmet Rubber Stamps called Daddy-O. I love this cute 'dad' image and the crown just makes me SMILE!!! The ribbon is May Arts, and as for that FREAKING AWESOME pair of specs? Yup. Totally a brad from The Eyelet Outlet! I KNOW, RIGHT??? Totally. Just say'n. Oh...and the pack comes with round Harry Potter style glasses, too. You need them. Just say'n.
I used StazOn to stamp on the gold glitter paper and then cut the crown out from that. The head/shirt part is stamped on white carstock and paperpieced onto the background, where I also stamped the image to get the fun little 'shine' do-dads on the sides. He's looking pretty fly, if you ask me. (WHOA! 90's flashback anyone? HA! Fly!!! HAHAHA!)
I cut a small pair of glasses from the Fancy Pants paper and used it as an accent with a bit of foam tape! I love it! Just a little piece of fun to add the finishing touch! I folded the ribbon to create the bow. I really like this look for some cards!
So...there you have it... all the cool kids wear glasses, you know. Just say'n.

When my sis (in the 5th grade) needed glasses to see the chalkboard (way back in the dark ages of school!) I swore I did too. I was in 7th grade and wanted something to make me stand out and be different. Oh the dr. did believe me (cause I faked it so good!) Wouldn't you know when I got those darn glasses I couldn't wear them cause I got so dizzy and sick I would throw up! Yep, true story. Ha!
