Thinking of You - Stampendous! Challenge Saturday!

Yes, that's right! We have another FABULOUS new challenge for you this month over at Stampendous! We are ALL about recycling this month! Use what you have and make it AWESOME! Don't throw away that packaging - you can use it! How about that fabric you hemmed off those pants...sounds good to me! Or, perhaps that paper bag you came home from the store carrying...yup...that would work, too! You name it! Recycle, reuse, repurpose!!!

I decided to use this chance to repurpose to also play along with the Moxie Fab World DIY Embellishment Challenge! I made a flag for my sentiment on this fun card!

Thinking of You

I began by stamping the Jumbo Cling Dahlia stamp on my craft panel with Distress Ink. I let that dry COMPLETELY and then stamped the Lone Bird image with embossing ink and embossed it with gold detail enamel.

TOY Detail 1

After embossing the bird, I sprinkled some Aged Silver and some Detail Gold enamel on the card randomly and then used the heat gun underneath the cardstock to melt it so it wouldn't go flying everywhere. That's a good tip. You don't want embossing powder flying everywhere. Just say'n.

For the flag, I pulled out a lollipop stick, of all things, and coated it with VersaMark ink and then with the gold embossing enamel. I carefully heated it to melt the powder to create my own gold flagpole! SO FUN! I then tied a bit of ribbon around the flat and adhered it to a cardstock flag that I cut, distressed, inked, and bent to look like it is waving. I stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Happy Messages set onto the flag and adhered it to the card in that wavy form! *LOVE!*

So...that's how I made my own embellishment for this fun card! We would LOVE to have you join in our recycle, reuse, repurpose challenge! You can link up on any of the links along the way, as they are all the same so your card will appear on all of them once you link to one. For more info on the challenge, check out the Stampendous! Blog! Now check out what the design team has done for this week! They kinda rock. For reals. Just say'n.

Don't forget - we want YOU to play along with is!  You have until Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:59 PM EST to add your direct link to our collection at the end of this post (or on the Stampendous blog).  You do not have to use Stampendous products, but we sure love it when you do!  As an extra incentive for playing along, one lucky crafter (drawn at random) will receive this fabulous Mother's Love Perfectly Clear Stamp Set.  Available in stores now, it will be on the website for purchase soon!

Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.  We hope you have a chance to play along with us (you an enter as many times as you'd like!) this month...Happy Crafting!
