Driving Toy Cars on the Beach

Or something like that. HA! Actually, what I was trying to do there was come up with a cute little creative way to combine BOTH of the projects I am showing you today in my title. I'm not sure it worked.....OKAY, it TOTALLY did. Just say'n. HA!

Let's begin with the fun little card I created for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger this week. Can I even TELL you how much I love this trigger?! If I have time, you may see another card based on this photo because, quite frankly, it's fabulous.

*sigh* Sweet, happy, Neapolitan goodness. *love!*

I reached into my scrap bin for some strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate papers to create this card, so it's a mish-mash of manufacturers and I can't tell you ENOUGH how much I love how well they work together. For reals.

You Did It!

The strawberry layer is Cosmo Cricket cuteness, the vanilla layer is classic Basic Grey, and the chocolate layer is scrumptious Studio Calico. I stamped the toy car from 100 Proof Press in Sorbet ink (CTMH) on the vanilla layer and then added some yummy May Arts crinkle ribbon for a bit of texture.

You did it (detail)

AND...I also wanted to share this necklace I created with you! Now, understand, I'm not usually a jewelry making kind of girl. I don't even have a lot of the basic supplies you need (like crimp beads and jump rings, and, well, you know...the basics of jewelry making and such), however, every once in awhile I get a bug and I just have to jump in! I created this one for the May Arts Beach Theme challenge. Since I became a Ribbonista, I'm no longer eligible for the prize, but I still get to show you the necklace in all it's collage pendant glory!

Mixed Media collage beach pendant

I collaged many types of May Arts ribbon in small bits to create this piece. The glass bottle is filled with sand and then covered with liquid glass to create a water-like look. I intentionally added bubbles to enhance the effect. (P.S. Yes, that did take three weeks to dry. For reals. A FULL three weeks. No joke. Thanks for asking. Just say'n.)

Beach Collage Pendant

I rolled a small piece of vintage paper and tied it with ribbon and tucked that in along with a Tim Holtz safety pin. I just love the texture and beach feel of this piece! It takes me straight to my favorite beach! Oh...and yes, the sand in the bottle is ACTUAL beach sand from Wells Beach, ME. I would use no other. Just say'n.

Have a super duper Happy Thursday! I'm so happy you are here!

I'm afraid if I had that inspiration photo to work with, I'd say to heck with the card, and go shopping for some ice cream. YUM. (Great job on the card, though!)

I love how you made that colour combo so successfully masculine - and it even has ribbon? And a stick pin? And yet totally appropriate for a guy...crazy!
And your necklace - wow! - love that teeny bottle, even if it took 3 weeks to dry. It looks like it was worth it :)
