Alcohol Inks, oh, why have I waited so very long to find you? (WOYWW)

WOYWW 8 Sept. 2010

No, really.  Why oh WHY have I avoided these fabulous little bottles of wonderful pigment for so long?  Well.  No more, folks!  NO MORE!  I bought six bottles and a bottle of the blending solution and ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you....this girl is IN LOVE!

Have you used them?  They are fabulous.  I bought them because I thought they would be great for adding some shadowing and highlights to my doll parts, but MAN am I going to get a ton of use out of these things!  You can see my current workspace above with just a couple of tags that I started to play on.  LOVE!

Little Owl Stuffie

Also on my workspace is this little piece of adorableness.  Just a little owl stuffie.  I don't know if I want to put a pin-back on him or a pony tail holder or what yet, but he was sitting half stitched and unstuffed on my desk for ages and last night I finally stitched him up and stuffed 'im and now he is SOOOO CUTE!!!!!!

WOYWW 8 Sept. 2010

And this is the remainder of my desk.  Paperwork and project remnants and such.  That fabric is from a fun pin cushion that I made...I'll probably show that off tomorrow.  So, that is what is on my workspace today!  And...now you know that I have a new love for and addiction to ranger alcohol inks.  Just say'n.

  1. ...I have never tried them...please stop encouraging me to buy more products! :)

Love the owl, I think he'd be a great ponytail holder...or even a "doll" for one of your larger doll creations!

  7. Yet another thing I want to play with. I've picked these up and put them down more times than I can count telling myself, I don't need another set of toys...clearly I do! I have to wait til next month though because I'm stashbusting :(

  15. Lovely busy desk Jingle. I haven't tried alcohol inks yet, I've got more than enough to keep me going! Sweet little owl, very cute as a little pony tail holder or on a key chain.

  17. What a cute owl! I don't use my alcohol inks as much as I should, and not on anything other than glossy - what a great idea you had.

  18. To be honest I have never really used alcohol inks... I feel like I wouldnt know what the heck to do with them?
I LOVE your little owl, hes so sweet! I would make little things like that but I fear that my child cats would tear them to shreds!
Too funny about your fortune cookies! I guess they really wanted to get their point across!!!

  19. Ok, you've inspired me to pull mine out and figure out how to use them. I got them at a convention and never took the time to do it. Maybe Ranger Rick's will have a tutorial?

  27. I love AIs, too. They are so fun to play with and I can see you have really gotten into them by the looks of those tags. I've only used the Jacquard brand, which are called Pinata. They are brighter and not as vintage looking, but I like both brands. Sorry I'm late getting here this week. Happy belated WOYWW.

  30. Lovin the little owl! And welcome to the world of alcoholics! Oh, wait, that didn't come out right!! alcohol-inkics, hmm, not much better...

  31. I too love AIs! Glad you are smitten. There are so many techniques for using them but I say....get yourself a can of air (an air duster meant officially for cleaning keyboards, camera lens etc.,) drop Alcohol ink on glossy card and blast with the air can!!! Amazing results.... my favourite and such fun.
Great snoop on your fab desk and sorry I'm late!
